The Pleiade opens a singing and bright image – a rat Aurora, a bear Tanheiser, a kitten Odilija, a fox Mizete and several others, singing the unforgettable songs of Arvīds Žilinsks, opens the “Magic Door at the Opera” to the little audience. In addition, it opens from the sides that are not accessible to the public on a daily basis – from the sewing workshop and hairdresser to the room where the decorations are made.
“It was a time when our viewers weren’t inside us, so we wanted to show it inside the film. And especially there were no children, who are probably our next viewers, ”the director Elita Burkovska describes the need for the project.
“Magic Door at the Opera” will turn into a performance on the stage of the Opera House’s New Hall already in December.
Žilinska’s music, like Bach’s, Mozart’s and Latvian songs, is a must-know for children; both “Doll Jacket”, “Good Fame for the Snowman” and “Squirrel Tells the Hedgehog”, and that’s why this little project with children’s songs grew into something wonderful and beautiful – a movie for children! In order for the children to tell their parents – let’s go to the opera to see what is really going on there, Ilze Ozoliņa, the concertmaster of the soloists of the Latvian National Opera, invites.
The film’s creative team includes a number of opera singers, including 3D animators and costume designer Kristīne Jurjāne.
The creators of the second video “In the World of Ballet” are local ballet dancers, who, under the direction of prima ballerina Elza Leimane, allow viewers to look at the ballet training lesson and learn compelling stories about the history of ballet – the Italians and the French still have the right to reveal it.
“And also about the time when the ballerina rises at the fingertips, and also about the poets themselves, because its technology is unique as it has evolved. I tell about how each ballerina personalizes and wears their shoes, and also the training lesson itself – it starts the day for both ballet school students and professionals, every day unchanged, but it is something that the viewer never knows and does not think about, ”content The diversity is revealed by the leading ballet soloist of the Latvian National Ballet, choreographer Elza Leimane.
At the end of the film, viewers are also given homework, with which they are invited to share on social networks, but ballerinas promise to give a rating.
