The Magenta Moon »#excitingedu project

A magenta moon is currently shining over Berlin. More precisely above Leipziger Platz, not far from Potsdamer Platz. With Magenta Moon Garden, Deutsche Telekom has opened an interactive location where the boundaries between the digital and the analog are disappearing.

The interactive “garden” is part of the Magenta-Moon-Initiativethat is committed to digital participation. The campus at Leipziger Platz was developed as an immersive space. This is where digital education should be made physically tangible.

In addition to the impressive Moon Garden, in which visitors * can influence natural phenomena, there are various workshops for children and young people to learn how to produce podcasts, program robots or develop artificial intelligence.

Talk series with experts from practice, education and politics

In addition, expert talks provide insights into various topics relating to digitization and everyday digital life. For example, it is about recognizing fake news, the use of artificial intelligence in music and methods of how to better focus despite the multitude of digital distractions. However, space is also given to topics such as representation, tokenism and diversity. The guests include Verena Pausder, head of the Digital Education for All eV, TikTok star Levin Hotho and Katrin Suder, chairwoman of the digital council of the federal government.

Extensive online offer with live streams and media library

These “moon talks” can also be followed online in the live stream and are also in a specially set up Media library as well as on the YoutTube-Kanal from Telekom available free of charge. Visiting the Magenta Moon Gardens in Berlin and all online content and events are free. On site, a security system ensures that visitors can move safely through the rooms even in Corona times.
