Eight months of work
The story begins in 2019, when his friend Daves Mith, a London glazier artist, contacted him to offer him this commission. “He asked me if I could develop a framework,” says Arron Dart. This piece of furniture, in walnut wood, required eight months of hand work.
The American hairdresser was in constant contact with the Plouvornéen. “We exchanged by video and I showed him the progress of the furniture, then I sent him photos by Instagram”.
On this piece of furniture, three trades were involved: the plouvornéen carpenter, the London glazier craftsman and a Texan who made a brass plate to be embedded in the furniture.
Leaving March 4
Thursday March 4, the piece of furniture will begin its journey via Nantes, Rome and New York. A special formwork was made by Arron Dart.
The carpenter did not tell us the price of this piece of furniture, but clarified that with the number of hours he spent there, the cost is rather high. “It is a great pride to have produced this piece and I will put my name behind the piece of furniture,” says the craftsman.
