France The second round of local elections has been particularly successful for the Green Party, which has triumphed in Lyon, Bordeaux and Strasbourg, writes the British broadcaster BBC.

For French President Emanuel Macron’s LREM party, these elections have been a great failure – its representatives have not won a majority in any of the country’s cities, the media notes.
Voter turnout was relatively low – about 40% of eligible voters participated.
In Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the current mayor of the capital, received the largest number of votes from the Socialist Party. Another socialist, Martin Aubri, has been re-elected Lille’s leader.
