According to GeekBench platform information, M2 Max has 12 cores, the main frequency goes up to 3.54GHz and is equipped with 96GB RAM. The previous generation of M1 Max only has 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores and simultaneously supports 64GB RAM. This also means that the GPU core of M2 Max could be further improved, after all, M2 has many upgrades compared to M1.
The data shows that the single-core score of Apple M2 Max reaches 1889 points and the multi-core score reaches 14586 points. The single-core score of M1 Max can reach 1700-1800 points, and the multi-core score can reach 12800 points. This shows that the M2 Max has a limited single-core performance improvement over the M1 Max, which is not as big as imagined.
Although the single-core execution score has not improved much, compared with M1, which only supports up to 16GB RAM, M2 supports up to 24GB RAM, which can bring you better multitasking experience, and M2 also supports coding ProRes and natively supports ProRes format video clips, which greatly improves the work efficiency of film makers, and can edit up to 11 4K movie streams and two 8K movie streams simultaneously.
