The Lyon transfer window got carried away in the last hours, notably with the arrival on loan from Chelsea of Diego Moreira. The Portuguese striker is little known to the French public, due to his young age (19 years old). On the official Olympique Lyonnais website, he spoke about his arrival and his style of play.
Interviewed by OL mediaDiego Moreira spoke about his arrival, and in particular about his style of play: “I am a fairly fast player who dribbles at speed. I like to score and make people score. I have a vertical game. I like to receive the ball at the feet or in depth. I love 1v1, I’m not afraid. I can play on the left or on the right or even in a second striker position. »
“One person said to me ‘you can come quickly, you have to sign your loan in Lyon’”
Diego Moreira also spoke behind the scenes of his signing for OL: “I had a match with Chelsea that evening. I was on the field, we had just finished a match. We were going to thank the fans who came to see the match. A person from Chelsea came to see me, and she said to me “you can come quickly, you have to sign your loan at Lyon”. I wondered if that was true. I saw a lot of calls on my phone so it happened in the last minutes of the transfer window. »

“Malo Gusto told me very good things about the city and the club”
“Lyon is a very big club, it’s a club that I know with a lot of good players who have come through here,” explains Diego Moreira. I think it will be something good for my progression in professional football. I knew that Lyon had shown an interest in me. The decision was very easy. I didn’t think twice, I said yes directly and I am very happy with this decision. »
