The Coast Guard has identified the luxury yacht that, a few days ago, sailed in Capri between the Faraglioni, a maneuver that is absolutely prohibited even if in this period many have not resisted the temptation to cross the stretch of sea between the two most famous rocks in the world. This is why the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, who discussed the issue in a Committee for order and security held in the afternoon, has ordered the intensification of controls to “prevent the repetition of the violations”.
Returning to the yacht, also filmed by some yachtsmen present in the area, the investigations of the Maritime District Office of Capri, with the support of the Maritime Directorate of Campania, have allowed to ascertain that it is a luxury vessel of 50 meters, with the flag of the Cayman Islands. The vessel, which sailed for a few days in the Gulf of Naples, is a so-called “commercial yacht”, that is, it can also be rented. Now the Coast Guard is tracking down the captain, who will be sanctioned for his illegitimate conduct.
Near the Faraglioni, as well as in all the areas facing the rocky coasts of the island of Capri, there is a ban on navigation at a distance of less than 100 meters from the coast, and this is to protect the environment and the boaters themselves. These areas of sea are constantly patrolled by the Port Authority, together with other police forces. This is an intense surveillance activity on recreational navigation that from mid-June to today has recorded a high number of checks, with 200 violations reported.
