Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The scenic train, which recently went viral on social media due to its unique interior and facilities, will temporarily stop as of January 9, 2023 to undergo an evaluation process.
PT Kereta Api (KAI) Tourism Public Relations, M Ilud Siregar revealed that the evaluation was done in an effort to improve the service to the passengers by the innovations provided. “The rating is related to efforts to improve services to our passengers, from the innovations we deliver,” he said as quoted by detikcom, Sunday (8/1/2023).
The assessment, he said, also concerns whether there are any complaints from passengers. “Yes, for example there are complaints or improvements in the service,” she added.
He added, the scenic train actually operated from December 24, 2022 to January 8, 2023 as part of a phased rollout. Also, this train is used to support Christmas and New Year (Nataru) transportation. “So until January 8, the results of the permanent evaluations of the scenic train ride will continue,” she explained.
Of note, scenic trains offer a different experience and comfort than executive trains in general.
These include comfortable seats that can be rotated to face the window, remotely controllable blinds, spacious bathrooms with automatic sensors, televisions at the end of the train and special luggage racks at the end of the train.
Also, other perks customers get when they board a scenic train are snacks, heavy meals, drinks, and blankets.
