The Lunge of KKSB OPM Leader Hengky Wamang Who Was Shot Dead: Okezone News

JAYAPURA – The joint Police and TNI team finally managed to shoot dead, the leader of the Armed Separatist Criminal Group (KKSB) in the Kali Kopi Timika area, Hengky Wamang, Sunday, August 16, 2020 in a law enforcement operation.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Paulus Waterpauw in Jayapura on Monday 17 August 2020 announced the success of the Nemangkawi Task Force in the law enforcement operation. From the police’s records, in the prosecution, members had made very thorough preparations considering that the suspect was very slippery and often escaped raids by security forces.

Hengky Wamang was shot in the stomach and right arm during the arrest, where he was forced to be paralyzed because he wanted to fight the authorities. From this raid, the security forces managed to secure hundreds of pieces of evidence, including firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and documents from other independent Papuan organizations.

KKB members who fled included Alvin Elas, Jarianus Beanal, Aperanus Beanal, Johan Kelanangame, Amoko, Geramus Elobo, Kerenius Alom and Penison Amisin.

Apart from shooting Hengky Wamang to death, the joint forces also managed to secure one man at the location of the raid, who is suspected of being Hengky Wamang’s aide. The man has now been temporarily detained at the Mimika Police.
