In his sermon, Ustaz Alfan conveyed, when there is a solar or lunar eclipse, there are some practices that are recommended or recommended by the Prophet Muhammad SAW, among others, multiply prayers to Allah SWT, multiply takbir, remembrance, and ask for forgiveness to Allah SWT.

“When the eclipse occurs, it is a mustajabah time on the side of Allah SWT for us to pray to Allah SWT,” said Ustaz Alfan in his sermon.

Mentioned Alfan, Prophet Muhammad also encouraged his people to perform Eclipse Prayer and multiply munajat to Allah SWT. As well as increasing alms, especially now that it is still the month of Syawal, it is recommended to increase acts of worship, including 6 -day sunnah fasting.

The entire congregation seemed to be busy carrying out the eclipse prayers until the end, while still implementing strict health protocols. Then it ends with a prayer together, so that the Covid-19 pandemic will soon pass, and the condition of the people of North Sumatra will recover as soon as before.

This year’s total red lunar eclipse is very special, and is referred to as a super red moon or super blood moon. This is because the moon looks red and bigger than usual. The redness of the moon occurs due to the refraction of sunlight by the Earth’s atmosphere.
