On October 13, Ukrainian servicemen detained a representative of the LPR in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Andrey Kosyak. Later it became known that the detainee had Russian citizenship, said the speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Nevertheless, no notifications of the incident were received by the Russian diplomatic and consular offices. At the same time, the Russian-Ukrainian Consular Convention prescribes to do this immediately and no later than three days after the arrest. a statement on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Now Russia is calling on Kiev to stop provocations in Donbass, as well as to report the whereabouts of the detained Russian citizen and provide consular access to him. In addition, Moscow expects the OSCE to assess Kosyak’s detention.
Earlier, the city court of Severodonetsk, Luhansk region of Ukraine, ruled to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Kosyak. He was arrested by the Ukrainian special services. The jamb was armed with a firearm with two loaded magazines during the arrest. He is also suspected of involvement in banned armed groups.
