The Lower House of Congress approved the bill as part of a larger package that also includes $61 billion in aid to Ukraine, $26 billion to Israel, $8 billion to Taiwan, as well as a bill to bring Russian assets to Kyiv.
Experts believe that this is a way to put pressure on the Senate, which has not approved the law that was approved by the majority of the House of Representatives for two months now.
In March, the House of Representatives already approved a bill on the sale of TikTok, which set a six-month deadline for the completion of this transaction. However, that version of the document was stuck in the Senate.
Observers this time have little doubt that the entire package will be quickly approved by the Senate, where, unlike the House of Representatives, the majority are Democrats. President Joe Biden said he would sign the package into law immediately.
TikTok plans to challenge the decision.
