The volunteers, made up of nursing auxiliaries but also family representatives, are very motivated to start the activities and entertain the 57 residents. “We want everyone to be touched by the animations. Those who are able-bodied, in wheelchairs and some bedridden. We make sure to interest everyone, hence the multiplicity of activities,” emphasizes the team of volunteers.
Create links
When, for example, the service agents give culinary workshops, it is very popular and it creates different links. The animations make it possible to get out of the caregiver/patient context as during mountain outings, with cheese tasting on the way when some will walk. Others will join them directly at the restaurant. Everything is organized according to the possibilities of each.
Horse therapy was also a great discovery, a co-financed activity. Indeed, the Ehpad allocates an annual budget of 1,800 euros with an identical sum for the association, drawn from its sales actions such as garage sales. A call is launched to donate objects or small furniture to the association in order to replenish its sales stocks.
Crédit Agricole has helped the association to finance adapted aesthetic furniture. New device to which the association has subscribed, “the getaway device” launched in 2020. Residents go on stays in holiday structures with free accommodation. An opportunity to bring residents, caregivers and family together by creating a different bond focused on the outside.
