With the third fastest time in the series, the full-back secured a ticket to the semi-finals to be played on Friday 19 August
Gabriel Tual (24) is slated to claim the continental 800m title. This Thursday in Monaco, the Prayssassais (Lot-et-Garonne) training at US Talence, held his rank and passed the series cut with flying colors. He qualified for the semifinals of his specialty by conquering third place in the series in 1’46 ” 08, 14 cents from the best time of all series, held by Englishman Jake Wightman (2022 world champion of 1,500 meters) .

The semifounder will look for a place in the 800 meters final this Friday 19 August (20:27), in the company of another Frenchman, Toulouse Benjamin Robert (1’47”66).

Author of a top-flight year 2022, Gabriel Tual gained momentum from his seventh place on the Tokyo tartan during the 2021 Olympics. He thus set his best time at the beginning of the summer during the Paris meeting of the Diamond League ( June 2022) completing the double lap in 1’44”23. He also ranked 6And of its world final in Eugene (USA). Enough to have a margin on the opponents during these European championships and aim for the gold medal in the final, Saturday 20 August (20:15).
