If in 2018 the company was operating with a loss of 100,473 euros, then in 2019 it increased to 215,982 euros.
In turn, the company’s turnover has increased by 4.1% during the year and in 2019 reached 7.3 million euros.
According to the company’s management report, the losses are planned to be covered from retained earnings of previous years.
“Rīgas Centrāltirgus” opened the Gastronomy Pavilion with a catering area in 2019, the Information Center was also opened and the development of the technical project for the reconstruction of the Fish Pavilion was started, as well as the Vidzeme market development concept was developed.
The management report indicates that in November 2019 the contract of SIA “Tirdzniecības nams Latgales priekpilsēta” was terminated, but in January of this year the dismantling of the trade modules located in Gogol Square was started.
Last year, several long-term investment projects were implemented, such as the renovation of the 1st and 6th trade islands in the meat pavilion, installation of new cold showcases and reconstruction of lighting, for a total funding of 282,369 euros. In the gastronomic pavilion, the premises were renovated for 2.3 million euros.
In the coming years, it is planned to adapt the adaptation of the Milk Pavilion to the relocation of Gogol Square traders, to modernize the “Riga Central Market” transport entry and exit system, to arrange waste container sites.
It is also planned to renovate the building in Spīķeri, Pūpolu Street 7, to introduce a system of trade control mechanism, to organize a tender for the establishment of Spīķeru Street as a pedestrian street with organized trade, as well as to purchase Pragas Street trade sheds and improve the trade area.
The share capital of the company is 15.2 million euros. JSC “Rīgas Centrāltirgus” manages the Central Market, Vidzeme market and Latgale market.
