The events occurred at the Burlington Coat Factory store in North Hollywood, where officers arrived in response to an alert call about a assault with a deadly weaponand later notices about shots being fired in the establishment. The agents found a subject who was trying to assault another person, for which they opened fire on the attacker, who died on the spot.
Later, during an inspection of the store, the body of the 14-year-old girl was found, which remained in a fitting room and was hit by a projectile that went through one of the walls.
