Publisher Nacon held a presentation on Tuesday with several of his upcoming games. Among the titles that appeared was The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, with a recent video diary from developer Daedalic Entertainment.
The video – as you can see above – offers several of the same clips we have seen of the game before. Admittedly, it also includes some glimpses of what players should do, such as climbing, jumping and sneaking.
It all takes place in a world that contains areas that should be familiar to fans of the Tolkien universe. Producer Harald Riegler also hints at trips to places that have never before been reproduced in either games or films, as players get to follow Gollum on a trip from Mordor to Moria.
Riegler also points out the protagonist’s unique moral compass, which constantly wears away in all possible directions. Players must set the course for their Gollum, where good and evil choices will apparently affect the course of history.
– Gollum is not a traditional hero. He has learned to play on a team with someone other than himself, and some of the most powerful figures in Middle-earth are looking to capture him or take his life.
Among those who hunt for Gollum are Gandalf, Legolas’ father Thranduil and Mouth of Sauron – or Sauron’s Munn as he is called in Norwegian. These three were shown in all their glory, with screenshots that you can see below the article.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and Nintendo Switch.
