This is the year of JRR Tolkien’s universe. Therefore, another game inspired by Middle Earth will arrive, “The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria”.
At the beginning of the millennium, New Zealand director Peter Jackson created one of the most successful trilogies of all time, “The Lord of the Rings”. The third film in the trilogy won 11 Oscars, equaling the records of “Titanic” (1997) and “Ben-Hur” (1959). Since then, several games have come out, and even another trilogy, “The Hobbit”. Therefore, this year will premiere the Amazon series, “Rings of Power“, in addition to the launch of the game “The Lord of the Rings: Gollum“. In other words, an ideal year is ahead for fans of this universe.
In this sense, players have reason to be satisfied again. Announced during the Epic Games Summer Showcase, “LOTR: Return to Moria” is the next game inspired by the books by JRR Tolkien. Developed by Free Range Games, it’s a different game from what we’re used to, as it’s considered an open-world survival and building genre. Therefore, players will be able to unite and win back the treasures of the Mines of Moria, or Khazad-dûm.
Unlike the other games in the franchise, “LOTR: Return to Moria” will not be available for all platforms, at least for now. Therefore, the game will only be available for PC, through the Epic Games Store. Despite this, it already has a launch window for early 2023.
