The City Council confirms that the initiative sought to counteract the loss of spaces caused by the Adif AVE works and the increase in sealed parking without rotation in unregulated areas in that area.
After actively listening to neighbors and groups, and knowing their position, the possible action was paralyzed.
In relation to the criticism expressed this morning by Mr. Ponce on behalf of the Municipal Socialist Party, the Lorca City Council wants to show its displeasure, but above all CLARIFY that in the San José neighborhood there are NO plans to implement the regulation service road traffic (ORA).
So that Mr. Ponce knows well before speaking, during the month of September and October, various meetings have been held with neighborhood groups in the area, so that – voluntarily – they could indicate their position regarding the draft implementation for their study and, therefore, an action was carried out (or not) in a CONSENSUS FORM, because that is how politics is managed and made.
The intention was to counteract the loss of spaces caused by the Adif AVE works and the increase in sealed parking without rotation in unregulated areas in that area.
This measure was requested at the time by users and merchants, considering -precisely- that it was necessary for there to be more rotation in the parking areas, which is the main objective of the implementation of the blue zone in the municipality, which also includes green – which we want to remind Mr. Ponce that it is to facilitate parking for the residents themselves.
After these meetings and the City Council having been informed that the residents of the San José neighborhood opposed this measure, the possible action WAS PARALYZED.
We do not understand how Mr. Ponce now says that the neighbors have contacted them complaining about this implementation when, in the first place, the City Council already carried out those procedures “when they had to be done”; and, secondly, at this time, this action is NOT going to be carried out.
It is time, once again, to remind the Municipal Socialist Group that when policies are made with a ‘crystal ball’ they comment on the blunders that Lorca’s PSOE is making in its statements, something that is beginning to be common; because they are only trying to generate unjustified social alarm and seek a continuous confrontation with the City Council… Mr. Ponce, to carry out politics of this caliber focused on assumptions, we insist: we do NOT need you in Lorca.
But what is even more serious if possible is that Mr. Ponce speaks of the blue zone as an unfair and tax-collecting measure… Well, it is time to remind him that during his mandate the blue zone was implemented in:

San Diego-Avda. Europa (389 spaces, distributed on Canal de San Diego, Asilo de San Diego, Puente de Churra, Dolores Blaya Cueto and Avenida Europa streets, their adjacent streets, intersections and extensions).

In total 518 blue zone places, more than half a thousand. In the end. The figures speak for themselves.
And how they continually allude to the garbage collection rate in every statement they make to the media under the motto ‘a lie told many times becomes the truth’…, the time has also come to make it clear that this policy creepy that seeks to confuse the neighbors and incite mobilizations using falsehoods like the one we just discovered this morning, IT IS NOT POLITICS, it is CONCEALMENT; a way to continuously cover up its beloved leader, Pedro Sánchez, the true architect of the creation of this tax, which is generating numerous problems in City Councils throughout Spain. It is at least ‘strange’ that they defend the person who created it, trying to disseminate that this rate comes from the Lorca Government.
No matter how much they repeat it, this rate corresponds to Pedro Sánchez; So stop insisting that you can’t fool anyone, gentlemen.
