One of the longest rivers in the world, Mississippi River, dry. More recently, human bones have been found at the edges.
Launch CNN, Thursday (10/20/2022), a woman named Crystal Foster who was looking for the stone that found it. After the investigation, it was a human bone.
The bones included the lower jaw, ribs, and several pieces of bone that have not been identified. The results will be sent to the state crime laboratory for further analysis.

Investigators will try to extract DNA from the remains. The goal is to match the case of missing persons.
Crystal said she found the bones Saturday while searching for stones with her family near Clarksdale, Mississippi. The location is approximately 80 miles southwest of Memphis, Tennessee.
They often look around the river bank and the water level is currently very low. Crystal said she and her family recognized the bones as human bones and immediately contacted the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
“I just hope the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) works quickly on this case and can identify the victim in the dental records. At least their families can get the information and then they will bring me peace,” Crystal said.
Authorities say they still don’t know exactly what human bones are. They are still waiting for the results of the anthropologists’ research.
More than 55% of the area adjacent to the Mississippi River is experiencing the worst drought since April. There are more than 133 million people living in the drought-affected area, the largest affected population since 2016.
Severe droughts covered more than 70 percent of Arkansas and nearly 40 percent of Missouri, up from just 5 percent a month ago. Rainfall in several locations has hit record lows in recent weeks, including in Memphis, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri.
