The Long Road of Kampoeng Kurma until it is finally declared bankrupt

Jakarta

Investment business activities Kampoeng Kurma finally declared bankrupt. This sharia-concept investment created a commotion in 2019 because many people have become victims.

Kampoeng Kurma offers investment by selling lots. Later, this plot will be planted with dates and the results will be distributed to the plot owner.

However, over time, people who have invested do not see the results. As a result, their money was gone. The following is the journey of Kampoeng Kurma until it was declared bankrupt:

1. Victims Shout Money Disappear

One of the victims, Irvan Nasrun explained, initially Kampoeng Kurma offered investment to the community by selling lots. The plots will later be planted with date palm plantations, the proceeds of which will be distributed to the plot owners.

However, Irvan, who has invested his money since early 2018, admitted that he had not seen a single date tree planted in his plot.

“And the date palms have not been planted yet, because there is no funds. To my surprise, the buyer’s money could run out,” he told detikcom, Monday (11/11/2019).

Kampoeng Kurma himself promised to build a date palm plantation area with various facilities. Starting from mosques, Islamic boarding schools, horse racing and other facilities with Islamic nuances.

This investment problem was detected in early January 2019, the company gathered investors and announced that there would be investors from Malaysia who wanted to acquire the Kampoeng Kurma project. The company also promises investors who want to withdraw their funds will be given full plus 20% of the funds. At that time, there were about 50% of the lot buyers who wanted a refund, but in reality it would not be processed.

“Mid of the year around July, I asked the management of Kampoeng Kurma, to ask about progress. By them my question was not answered. I finally looked for information, it turns out that the AJB promised for my plot has not been able to be implemented, I asked when AJB, answered that AJB could not because there are no funds,” he said.

Not only that, the company even gives a blank check to buyers who want to make a refund. There was also a plot that turned out to be non-existent, and some even turned out to be a graveyard.

“There are plots that have graves, many buyers are thrown around because the land plots don’t exist,” he added.

According to Irvan, a total of 4,000 lots have been sold. Irvan himself bought 7 lots with a value of IDR 417 million.
