Night will fall and the doors of the museums will remain open to take hundreds of people on a tour in which they will discover and rediscover history in the new version of The Long Night of the Museums.
Fourteen state museums and 15 private ones, located in eight provinces of the country, will join the cultural day that this edition has as its theme inclusion, on May 19, 20 and 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. the night.
“The Long Night of the Museums is a very striking activity, not because it is free, but because people find attractions inside the museums, animations, theater, living statues, pantomime, presentations of traditional groups, dances, songs, and that creates a playful aspect within the collections”, he told What’s happening! the director of Museums, Carlos Andújar.
The event will include workshops, conferences, entertainment for children, among other activities, explained Andújar, who also stressed that on this occasion there will be no musical performances, not only because of the limited space in the Colonial Zone, but also because the purpose is that the focal point be the museums and their collections.
“There will be no entertainment activities in the Colonial City due to the issue of closing the streets. They have asked us to limit the convocation activities to avoid congestion in the area, ”she said, adding that they have managed to get many people to know the museums, to associate the Long Night of the Museums with entertainment.
He also stated that the objective of The Long Night of the Museums is the collections, so in his management the concept has been changed and they will follow that line while he is in office.
“We don’t want the show to dominate, but rather the collections and museums, which is what it’s done for. Because a dance group or singers on a stage, with lots of lights, appears all the time, but an activity in museums allows people to enjoy the collections, have fun, get to know each other, create curiosity, investigate and discover”.
