The Long Island Killer: Architect Arrested for Four Prostitute Murders

In the United States, it is perhaps the epilogue of one of the cold case most famous in New York State. A 59-year-old architect was arrested and charged on Friday July 14 for the murder of three prostitutes, and is the number 1 suspect in that of a fourth. Authorities believe they have found the serial killer they have been searching for for over 13 years.

The man the Americans suspect of being the Long Island killer now has a name: Rex Heuermann. And, a face, that of a chubby 59-year-old father.

The case dates back to 2010 when the bodies of four prostitutes are found on a beach in New York. The victims all have things in common: all are young, between 22 and 27 years old, all used the same dating site and all are found in the same position: their hands tied with belts or adhesive tape.

At the time, the affair aroused psychosis in New York and obsessed the investigators. But it wasn’t until last year that they stumbled upon Rex Heuermann. His name is associated with one of the cars in which one of the victims was last seen.

Rex Heuermann pleads not guilty

After a long and discreet surveillance, the investigators manage to confuse the DNA of the architect with a hair found on one of the victims.

Rex Heuermann, who pleads not guilty, was therefore charged on Friday July 14 for three of these murders and remains the main suspect for the fourth.
