Sometimes we love HBO very much, and other times we want to pull our hair very much because they like to make us suffer. Uploading episodes one by one, for example. Cursed.
But today we talk about another topic and we hate them for other reasons, and that is The prince of Bel Air.
It may or may not escape you (and if it did, that’s what I’m here for), but last November there was a tremendous uproar around HBO Max, HBO’s streaming portal on the other side of the pond, and the reason was none other than the long-awaited meeting of the entire cast of the legendary series, 30 years after its premiere.

The expectation created in social networks through the HBO channel, the series itself and all the members of the team, who moved everything between secrecy and bombshell, did its very good marketing job, and by the time they released the official trailer of the reunion, heads exploded with emotion. Almost literally.
It was also tremendous, because everyone expected the heartfelt memory of James Avery (Uncle Phill), and of course “everyone” was present; that is to say; Will (Will Smith), Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro), Aunt Viv (Daphne Maxwell Reid), Hillary (Karyn Parsons) and Ashley (Tatyana Ali). But what not even the actors and actresses present there expected was that also appeared Janet Hubert, THE FIRST Aunt Viv, present in the first three seasons. And it was something unexpected because, although at these latitudes the rumors have reached us attenuated (because at that time there was no twitter), there is something well known that Hubert’s departure from the series was not friendly and raised a lot of controversy until very recently, as I told you in this post a couple of years ago.

The anger at this time comes because some delusions of us came to believe some rumors, which claimed that the premiere in Spain would be a matter of little time and that in a period of about three months we could enjoy it here. But mid January, February is on the corner and here nobody knows anything. The meeting in Spanish is neither seen nor expected at the moment, apparently. In Spanish we have the subtitled trailer thanks to the magic of YouTube, and I think to settle for now …
