The London Stock Exchange closes almost flat (-0.04) with declines in mining and oil companies

London, August 30 (EFE).- The London Stock Exchange closed this Friday’s session almost flat, with a slight decrease of 0.04%, dragged down by the poor performance of some listed companies in the mining sector and oil companies.

London’s main index, the FTSE-100, known as ‘footsie’, fell 3.01 points to 8,376.63 points.

However, the secondary indicator, the FTSE-250, which includes smaller companies, ended the day positively, with a growth of 55.46 points, 0.26%, to 21,086.54 units.

The company that registered the worst result on the London stock market was the mining company Fresnillo, which fell 2.34%, as did other listed companies in the sector such as Anglo American, Endeavor Mining or Rio Tinto, which also ended there the red, except for Antofagasta, which ended positively.

The ‘top 3’ of the day’s losers were completed by the hospitality company Whitbread, with a decline of 1.77%, and the investment fund Intermediate Capital Group, which removed 1.67% from the value of its shares.

On the positive side, real estate company LondonMetric Property ended up with the biggest increase in the British election, of 2.56%, followed by online betting company Entain, which grew by 2.22%, and the developer Land Securities Group, which added 2.03%. . EFE
