Directed by Mexicans Astrid Rondero y Fernanda Valadez, Dirty tells the story of a young orphan named Sujo who grows up in the isolated Mexican countryside, marked by drug violence and poverty.

Astrid Rondero y Fernanda Valadez They are Mexican writers, directors and producers. Over the course of their collaboration of more than 15 years, they have produced two feature films, Our darkest days (2017) y Without any particular signs (2020), as well as three short films, From this world (2010), In still waters (2011) y 400 suitcases (2014).

Synopsis:
After a cartel hitman from a small Mexican town is murdered, Sujo, his beloved four-year-old son, is left orphaned and in danger. Sujo narrowly escapes death with the help of his aunt, who raises him in the isolated countryside amidst hardship, poverty, and the constant danger associated with his identity. When he reaches adolescence, a rebellious streak awakens in him and, as a rite of passage, he joins the local cartel. As a young man, Sujo tries to rebuild his life, away from the violence of his hometown. However, when his father’s legacy catches up with him, he will come face to face with what seems to be his destiny.
