All over France, the local youth missions are designed to monitor and support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with a view to both social and professional integration.
The Gard department has five, including Rhône-Argence, with an administrative headquarters in Beaucaire, headed by Melynda Maufroid, and a permanent branch in Villeneuve. MLJ Rhône-Argence is in charge of nineteen municipalities spread over the communities of municipalities of Beaucaire-Terre d’Argence and Grand Avignon. It employs around twenty people and is 70% financed by the State, also by the Region and the territorial communities, while maintaining independence and flexibility in its management which takes into account local specificities.
In Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, the MLJ branch is located in the Sidscavar premises, place San-Miniato. It is under the responsibility of Patricia Félix.
Aid of € 484.82 / month
In addition to supporting young people who have left the school system by offering them many services to provide concrete solutions in the fields of employment, training, housing, mobility (help to obtain a driving license), rights to health, to psychological help (possibly …) since 2015, the specific Youth Guarantee scheme provides for the implementation of an individualized contract accompanied by a monthly aid of € 484.82. So far, one hundred and seventy young people dependent on Rhône-Argence have been able to benefit from it each year (including forty-five on the Villeneuve branch). However, as part of the government stimulus plan, additional funds have been allocated in favor of professional integration, especially for the youngest.
Thus, the Un jeune-Une solution plan allows MLJs to double their objectives, which means that in 2021, locally, 310 young people can claim the Youth Guarantee, a real springboard towards employment. What they do not always know, despite the information disseminated at Pôle emploi, Cap emploi and in high schools.
