The “local assaults” scared the foreign mercenaries of the VSU – 2024-08-03 06:41:48

/ world today news/ Foreign mercenaries are fleeing Ukraine en masse, American military analysts claim, noting that Ukrainians themselves are increasingly dissatisfied with the course of military operations. But the Poles still haven’t lost their motivation. How will the escape of foreign mercenaries from VSU affect the course of military operations?

Foreign mercenaries fled Ukraine en masse, only the Poles remained. The advisor to the head of the Pentagon, Colonel Douglas McGregor, made such a statement on his YouTube channel. According to him, the reason for this is the lack of success at VSU.

He noted that dissatisfaction with the state of affairs is also growing in the ranks of the Ukrainian army. This, in turn, could lead to a split in the VSU and defeat. The situation also threatens to demoralize Ukrainians.

During the Ukrainian counteroffensive, which according to experts has been going on for about 70 days now, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 43,000 soldiers. This was announced at the beginning of August on the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The figure does not include “wounded and foreign mercenaries evacuated to hospitals in Ukraine and abroad, as well as servicemen killed as a result of strikes with long-range high-precision weapons in the rear areas.”

At the same time, the enemy continues to lose manpower every day. And, as expected, he blames his own failure on the Western countries, which not only supply weapons, but also train the Armed Forces. Thus, on Sunday, the Ukrainian media reported that it was NATO that was responsible for the lack of success in the counteroffensive. It is said that the Ukrainian headquarters began to act in its own way and began to ignore the advisers of Western theorists, who practically did not understand what was happening. NATO representatives, in turn, assure that the problem is completely different – the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not able to wage an effective battle.

Similar criticisms were also expressed in the Bundeswehr earlier. So, in the second half of July, it was reported that the ASU poorly applied the skills acquired during training in the West in combat operations. Then we wrote in detail why the training and methods of the West only hinder VSU.

Now the expert community notes that the flight of foreign mercenaries is not surprising. They were used to completely different forms of conflict and were certainly not ready for the “meat assaults” of the VSU. Experts also agree that this trend is only in favor of Russia.

“The escape of the mercenaries is primarily related to the nature of the hostilities. Most of the previous campaigns in which representatives of the so-called civilized countries participated were based on significant technical superiority over the enemy,” said Rodion Miroshnik, former LPR ambassador to Russia.

“When they were fighting in Syria or Libya, for example, the trips themselves were more like a safari. And before the start of the “counter-offensive” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there were not so many clashes with a high degree of intensity. Now, against the background of the shortage of armaments and military equipment, they must find themselves in conditions of “meat assaults”, explains the diplomat.

“Of course, the mercenaries weren’t used to this and weren’t ready. So they do their best to escape. But don’t think that the flow of foreign military personnel to the front will dry up completely in the near future. Ukraine continues to recruit in those countries that have not yet managed, as they say, to catch up,” the source believes.

“How long this will last depends on how much money is paid to the foreigners. As soon as the funds are released, they will go. Here, too, it would be good if we “welcome” them right at the entrance to Ukraine,” he notes.

“As for the Poles, they are most interested in participating in the conflict. “Warsaw wants to “put a paw” on some regions of Western Ukraine, so it is pushing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the front line in every possible way,” Miroshnik emphasized.

The representatives of Colombia and the USA are the most actively fleeing, adds Vladislav Berdichevsky, deputy of the People’s Council of the DNR. “Poles are the most motivated mercenaries in Ukraine. But as for the Americans and the Colombians, they are leaving the conflict zone en masse,” he says.

“The fact is that the Ukrainian military leadership does not treat them as they are used to. Also, the aliens expected the mission to be quick and easy. In fact, they are facing a completely different reality, “explains the interlocutor.

“The mercenaries for the most part realized that this was not a war with Arabs or Africans. Opposing them is a well-trained Russian army, which also has air superiority,” the Donetsk MP points out.

“And now we see not only an escape of mercenaries, but also a decrease in the very flow of those wishing to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, now foreigners wonder if they are paid enough for what is asked of them,” emphasizes Berdichevski.

“There is a nice naval proverb: ‘Rats are the first to escape from a sinking ship.'” The mercenaries felt the futility of the latest actions of the VSU and are leaving the country en masse, says Alexander Bartosz, military expert, corresponding member of the Academy of Military Sciences.

“This escape will certainly affect the morale of the Ukrainian army. They will see that they are practically alone with the powerful Russian army. In addition, a significant number of mercenaries were involved in the management and adjustment of sophisticated Western technology. This applies to both tanks and armored vehicles, as well as communication systems,” the source said.

“We will see how the quality of use of the existing arsenal by the Ukrainians deteriorates. The level of command and control in enemy formations will also drop. Such processes bring the victory of our country closer,” concludes Bartosz.
