The “Llíria City of Music” Ensemble begins its 2024 tour in South Korea

On this occasion, the musicians from Lliria under the direction of maestro José Miguel Rodilla will perform a total of 7 concerts, participating in important music festivals throughout the Asian country. These concerts will take place, mostly in concert halls in the capital Seoul, as well as in the Sejeon Auditorium and forming part of the prestigious Daejeon International Music Festival as the closing concert of the tour.

This Friday, the ensemble “Llíria City Of Music” concludes its international tour with a visit to several auditoriums in South Korea, where they have planned several performances, both as a solo group and accompanying groups from the country.

On this occasion, the group incorporates Spanish dance into its artistic line-up, with two young dancers accompanying the ensemble in its musical repertoire.

Nestled in the heart of South Korea, Daejeon is emerging as a hotbed of cultural festivals, hosting the Daecheongho Daedeok Music Festival in 2024. This event promises to be a harmonious blend of music, culture, and scenic beauty, offering an unforgettable experience to all attendees.

According to the Councillor for Artistic Education and UNESCO Creative City, Paco García, the Edetan group, made up of musicians from the two musical societies, led by the prestigious international director and musician from Lliria, José Miguel Rodilla, will be touring the country from 16 to 25 August.

The 2024 tour is the second musical project to internationalize Edetan music with South Korea, a milestone that is part of the objectives set out in the UNESCO Creative City Strategic Plan 2024-2027, where close collaboration is maintained with another Korean UNESCO Creative City, such as DAEGU, in order to materialize new musical exchanges.

García points out that, through the network of Creative Cities or UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the City of Llíria has been able to open several channels of participation and collaboration within the musical sphere, where Edetana music can be present in the best national and international auditoriums, exporting the talent of our professionals to various places around the world.

The programme chosen for the different concerts that the Ensemble “Llíria City of Music” will perform in Korea will include works by international composers such as Bach, Weber, Mozart, Ravel, Bizet, Falla and Granados.
