Retiree music makes a comeback
The “PM 2020” has already set some appearances for this year.
It’s called “Die Kleine PM 2020”, which stands for “little retired people’s music”. After its foundation in the Corona year 2020, the small formation can already tackle the third year with several public appearances. Founded and directed by Bärti Muther, they continue to delight audiences with varied and listenable brass band music.
The six musicians gave concerts in the Urner old people’s homes in the year of their founding, but were increasingly engaged for public appearances. The retirees performed at “Stiär Biär” on August 1st, on the car-free Saturday in Andermatt and at the weekly market in Altdorf. Retired status makes it possible to meet at any time. This also led to public rehearsals and performances.
Richly loaded appointment calendar 2023
The formation concluded last year with Christmas concerts in Flüelen, Bürglen and Andermatt. In 2023 there was a pre-spring concert in the Andermatt retirement home. Some appearances are known (see note). The commitment to the wine festival in Erlach on August 30th and September 1st is certainly to be regarded as a preliminary highlight of this year. The Uri formation will perform as part of the festival program on Saturday and will also play an active role in the big parade on Sunday. The exact times of the season, especially the lake stage concerts, can be found in the regional press. (pd/zf)
