In July 2023, we met the sculptor Jean-Marc de Pas and his wife Stéphanie, at the Château de Bois-Guilbert (Seine-Maritime). They then told us about the wonderful adventure of this order for a Little Princeafter an international competition launched by the American Society of French Remembrance, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the famous tale by Saint-Exupéry.
Imagined, thought out and sculpted in the secrecy of Jean-Marc de Pas’s workshop, the Little Prince was installed and unveiled a few days ago, Wednesday September 20, at New Yorkat the entrance to the Villa Albertine, in front of Central Park.
The great nephew of Antoine de St-Exupéry was present
For the occasion, Jean-Marc de Pas and Stéphanie were obviously present, for this event which took place in the presence of an important gathering of personalities: the president of The American Society of Le Souvenir français Thierry Chaunu, as well as Jean -Hugues Monier, Francis Dubois and Brigitte Smith.
Among the prestigious guests, we also noted the presence of Olivier Agay, great-nephew of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Nicolas Delsalle, secretary general of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Foundation for Youth.
The French Ambassador to the United States, Laurent Bili, and the director of the Villa Albertine, Gaëtan Bruel also attended this timeless event, during which the bronze statue of the Little Prince was unveiled by Catherine Colonna, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Forever anchored on 5th Avenue
The Little Prince will continue to write his story, on 5th Avenue, in the fabulous setting of the beautiful Villa Albertine. And as the sculptor wanted, passers-by will be able to sit near the statue, the image of an inalienable, essential hero who will remain forever eternal.
As for Stéphanie and Jean-Marc de Pas, they have now returned from New York, after three emotional days, which took place “under a beautiful blue and starry sky”.
