The National Authority of the Litani River announced in a statement that it “sent letters to the caretaker Minister of Environment Dr. Nasser Yassin and Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Abyad about the need to take the necessary measures against the “Pro Life” company, the “Amana Care” company and the “Zenatat” company because of their throwing hundreds of cans Medicines and expired pills on the banks of the winter stream leading to the Ghazil River, one of the most important tributaries of the Litani River.
In its books, the authority called for “taking immediate measures and preventing these companies from carrying out similar work near the Litani River, and forcing them to abide by the laws that determine how to dispose of waste generated from them.”
The authority took the status of a personal claim before the Public Prosecution Court of Cassation against the defendants (the aforementioned companies) and requested “to oblige them to remove waste and restore the environmental system.”
