Lots of promises and a few surprises. The list of 20 finalists for the Golden Boy was unveiled this Thursday morning, to succeed Joao Félix, winner last year, and three French: Pogba (2013), Martial (2015) and Mbappé (2017). Unlike the Ballon d’Or, the trophy issued by Tuttosport is well maintained this year and enters its home stretch with this list of finalists.

Only one Frenchman can still claim victory, Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes), who will be accompanied by two other residents of Ligue 1: Mitchel Bakker (PSG) and Jonathan David (Lille). However, the Parisian left side has only accumulated 752 minutes of play and 8 starts in 2020.
Real Brazilians are here
England is much more provided with 5 elements (Foden, Greenwood, Hudson-Odoi, Saka, Sancho) while several clubs are doubly represented: FC Barcelona (Dest and Fati), Manchester City (Foden and Torres), Borussia Dortmund (Haaland and Sancho) and Real Madrid (Rodrygo, Vinicius).
A few weeks ago, Tuttosport announced the last 40 candidates for the Golden Boy, before dividing this shortlist by two. At the end of this last voting session, the player having collected the most votes from the public will be declared the winner.
