After Japan, Costa Rica, Brazil, Denmark and Australia, it is Switzerland’s turn to announce its list for the 2022 World Cup. Murat Yakin, the Nati coach, has called up 26 players, including the Monegasque forward Breel Embolo or even the former Lyonese Xherdan Shaqiri, now in Chicago.
The Swiss coach has also decided to hire four goalkeepers, including Yann Sommer (Mönchengladbach) and Jonas Omlin (Montpellier), injured for a few weeks. Injured against PSG last weekend, Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo is out of business. Quarter-finals of the last Euro, Switzerland will play in Group G in Qatar together with Brazil, Serbia and Cameroon.
