The liquidation of the DPR terrorist Arseniy Pavlov (Motorola) was being prepared in Kiev. However, during the organization of the explosion, Ukrainian agents made a mistake that could disrupt the entire course of the special operation.
About it told journalist Yuri Butusov. According to him, two volunteers volunteered to implement the plan – to blow up the elevator of the house in Donetsk where the separatist lived. One of them is a personnel officer with special training, the other is a freelance agent.
They trained in Kiev – at the entrance of the house, where an elevator of a similar design was installed. “According to legend, the saboteurs acted as a team of lifters conducting a routine inspection. They had to open the elevator shaft and install mines on the cabin,” Butusov said.
A few days before the explosion, “repairmen” came to the entrance, passed the security point and set a bomb on the ventilation grill. But it turned out that the agents had forgotten their mobile phone on the roof of the elevator. As a result, the SBU officer returned and fixed the “puncture”.
“Finding the phone before the moment of the special operation could lead to its failure. And finding the phone, even after a success, would allow the Russians to get some details of contacts that they should not have known,” the journalist wrote.
It was also important for Ukrainian saboteurs to eliminate all risks for civilians living in the house. It was for this reason that a listening sensor was installed in the elevator: when Pavlov entered the entrance with his security guard, the agent called Motorola to confirm his whereabouts. At that moment, when the phone rang in the elevator, and the terrorist picked up the phone, there was an explosion.
“All Ukrainian saboteurs who carried out this extremely daring special operation left Donetsk safely,” Butusov added.
