In 2021 60 million kilograms of maple syrup were harvested, 18 million kilograms less than in 2020. This is partly due to the weather conditions, which caused the sap flow from the trees to start less well. “It was an average season, not bad, but not as good as the last 2 seasons,” QMSP spokesperson Hélène Normandin told Canada’s public broadcaster CBC.
