ARGENTINA WON: The Lionesses beat Belgium on penalties and took the Bronze medal
Fernando Ferrara’s team won the Australian penalty shootout 3-1 (Sofia Cairo, Zoe Díaz and Lara Casas) after a 2-2 draw in regular time. Emma Puvrez opened the scoring for the Europeans, but then Agustina Gorzelany and Agustina Albertario appeared to turn the game around. The Belgians reacted quickly and levelled the score with Justine Rasir.
In this way, Argentina adds its sixth medal in women’s hockey: silver in Sydney 2000, bronze in Athens 2008, bronze in Beijing 2008, silver in London 2012, silver in Tokyo 2020 and this bronze in Paris 2024.
