“Leftists are anti-Semitic, they hate Jews, and Palestine is convenient for them as an excuse. I wouldn’t look for anything deeper than that,” Aaron Günsberger, the owner of a kosher restaurant in the center of Prague, told ParlamentnímListům.cz. Passers-by recently wanted to destroy this place. The Prague police, as they answered us, are investigating the incident.

Description: Aaron Günsberger, owner of a restaurant in Prague 1
“Since Tuesday, October 31, the Department of Extremism and Terrorism has been conducting an investigation into a case where, according to the report, a verbal conflict between several people should have occurred in Široká Street. What exactly happened on the spot is the subject of further investigation,” Richard Hrdina, the press spokesman of the Regional Directorate of the Police of the Capital City of Prague, told us. However, the owner of the attacked restaurant spoke directly to ParlamentnímListům.cz and now wants to publish everything. And without anonymity.
Threatening in broad daylight
“We were recently attacked in the morning. Craftsmen passed by our restaurant, but judging by their clean clothes, they were people who work in services rather than construction. Maybe they’re stretching the internet somewhere or something. Just then, a very peaceful waiter was outside in the garden and they started yelling quite aggressively, Free Palestine, Freedom for Palestine. This surprised the waiter, so he asked them if they were crazy and why they were shouting like that. They started cursing him to put the rag, the flag, to hell. They went further, where the security service of the Jewish Museum was standing, who overheard them agreeing that they would return, smash everything and set the flag on fire,” said Aaron Günsberger to ParlamentnímListům.cz, adding that in order not to sweep everything under the carpet, the whole case needs to be made public .
As one walks through the Josefov district past the walls of the Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague, one comes across the Pinkas Synagogue, which today is a memorial to over 80,000 Jews who perished during the Holocaust. The faces of other victims can be seen on a wall nearby. They are probably still alive. These are the faces of children, women and men who were abducted in the recent attack by Hamas from the Gaza Strip on Israel. Aaron Günsberger, the agile owner of the Prague kosher restaurant, stuck them here. A no-nonsense cutie, his Fifth Quarter business now has an Israeli flag on the door, prompting a verbal attack from the day passer-by. After all, ParlamentníListy.cz already described everything in the article HERE.
The left is rooting for Palestine I.
As I sit with Günsberger in his restaurant, I remember how a few years ago I interviewed the writer and American Jew Tuvia Tenenbom, who in his books, among other things, describes the growth of anti-Semitism in contemporary Europe. Tuvia is a cute fat guy who, for example, in the book Her Majesty’s Rats, in his sarcastic and apt way, described how Palestinian flags are flying all over Northern Ireland and how in a pub the local people told him that “it’s a shame that Hitler didn’t finish the Jew” “. In the book Catch the Jew, he reflected again on why Germany is the second largest donor to the Palestinians after the USA.
However, why most pro-Palestinian activists are recruited from the left is a very interesting topic for me. “That is absolutely clear. Leftists are anti-Semitic, they hate Jews, and they use Palestine as an excuse. I wouldn’t look for anything deeper than that. What has recently taken place around the Gaza Strip is such a monstrosity that it is perhaps impossible to even comment on it. And I think those people admire the slaughterhouse,” Günsberger said now, adding: “You can like Jews or not like them, that’s your free will. But if you are human, you will not defend such monstrosities. I haven’t seen such things even in a slaughterhouse. I’m speaking for myself so that no one else has stupid shit. If this happened to any other country, for example America, Russia, England or France, then no stone would be left unturned in Gaza. And Israel is really trying to target murderers with special operations. I am not happy when a Palestinian child dies, to be clear. But Israel is currently fighting for survival.”
The left is rooting for Palestine II.
After all, the European left and its support for Palestine were also discussed at a recent debate at the headquarters of the Municipal Library in Prague on Mariánské náměstí. “I identify with the left, so it’s hard for me to see what’s going on. The inability of the European left to at least say – hey, this is terrible, what happened – amazes me… It’s a huge disappointment for me… The European left is not about the Palestinians. They haven’t thought through what they are striving for and what kind of Palestine they would like… However, let’s not lump the entire left into one bag, there are more of those directions… And the left, which is progressively far to the left, has totally failed in my view, because it turns out that what is valid for others, it does not apply to Jews, and I am afraid to say whether it is really anti-Semitism or what else is behind it,” said Irena Kalhousová, director of the Herzl Center for Israeli Studies at Charles University.
Jakub Szántó, a former foreign reporter for Czech Television in the Middle East, mentioned: “The extreme right cheers Israel because it kills Arabs, but they don’t know that a fifth of Israel’s full-fledged residents are Arabs by pure chance… The postmodern left is also building on the popular postcolonial vision of the world. That is, on the fact that Israel would not exist without the USA, which is a very ahistorical point of view, but according to them, it is basically the fifty-first state of the USA. And we don’t like America because it’s a plutocracy run by Jews. The thinking is relatively easy there.” And Szántó added: “Some leftists don’t care about the Palestinians. I have repeatedly encountered this…”
