There is currently a major discussion going on about banning glyphosphsate, a pesticide in agriculture. There appears to be a link between the drug and the increase in Parkinson’s.
But pesticides in agriculture are not the only problem, says neurologist Barbera van Harten of the MCL hospital: “For example, the air also contains trichloroethene. This is a solvent that is often used in the metal industry or as a stain remover in dry cleaners and laundries. And so on. there are probably many other substances or substances that have a bad influence.”
‘Time and effort’
The parties want the province to actively participate in investigating the causes. “Our province has the task of making our province clean and healthy and has the resources to manage this,” says Knol.
The province should not create the map itself, but should help as much as possible: “You can provide the data needed for it. Invest time and effort, such a question should not be forgotten.”
