“The Link Between Exercise and Cancer: Why Fast Food Could Be the Culprit” – Indonesian Cancer Foundation Coordinator Discusses the Impact of Unhealthy Diets on Cancer Risk

Bloomberg Technoz, Jakarta – Sports are now increasingly popular with a number of young people. This habit is carried out as a form of self-awareness in maintaining health. Even though people exercise diligently, everyone still has the potential to develop cancer. How come?

The Public Relations Coordinator of the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI), Pratiwi Astar, said that young people who are diligent in sports can suddenly get cancer. Not because of sports activities, but because of uncontrolled and unhealthy food intake.

Eating fast-cooked food also has the potential to cause disease in the long term, 15 to 20 years into the future, rather than choosing a healthy diet.

“Working mothers now, ‘Ah, just cook it already process foodsausage’“, which may expire two years, that the impact will be 15 to 20 years later, for example, if her child is 15 years old and only 30 years old, she will get cancer,” explained Pratiwi Astar when met at the Indonesian Cancer Foundation Art event, at Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, Tangerang, Thursday (1/ 2/2024).

Pratiwi said unhealthy foods such as fast food can cause colon cancer. According to data, this cause more often attacks men and is the second most common disease in the world.
