Linamar, a Canadian automotive supplier, has a production site in Saint-Chamond (Loire). It manufactures engine and transmission parts for car manufacturers, heavy trucks and their suppliers. The company has won a major contract. Indeed, it was chosen to equip the future models of hybrid cars and combustion engine (petrol) of the Stellantis group.
To ensure the fulfillment of this order, Linamar spent approximately 30 million euros to, among other things, set up new machine tools to complete the eight existing production lines. These machining machines linked to robots equipped with cameras will make it possible to increase the automation of certain tasks. The subcontractor also intends to expand its factory in order to double its production capacity and thus plans to recruit around a hundred employees during this year 2023, in particular operators, fitters and line managers.
