One of the biggest criticisms of the PlayStation 5 is probably the lack of extensive storage space. Games are getting very large in size these days – we’re looking at you, Call of Duty – so it also seems logical that the next generation of consoles should be prepared for a lot of ‘big’ games.
When it turned out that the PS5 would only have 667GB of usable storage space, the doubts logically arose. However, do not fear, as Jim Ryan, the PlayStation boss, is convinced that this will not cause any problems.
He shared this in an interview with The Telegraph when asked if that storage space wouldn’t cause any problems. He suspects that the space provided “should be sufficient,” which he deduces from very detailed studies of the use of our PS4 consoles.
“We’ll obviously watch what happens as people unbox their PlayStations and start to use them. We think we’ll be okay. We obviously are able to monitor hard drive usage on the PS4 microscopically and everything that we saw there indicates that we should be fine.”
The future will tell whether we will find enough space on our PS5 consoles.
