After the autumn unveiling of the smaller variant of the PlayStation 5 console, this novelty has already reached the shelves of Czech stores. But the changes are more or less only visual. While the PS5 retains its futuristic design, each side panel is now divided into sections. It’s because you to this version you can connect a disk drive. At the same time, you still have the option to purchase a variant without mechanics. Direct on the Czech PlayStation website you will find a list of stores where you can purchase the new variants. It works out in terms of price to 13,590 CZK with mechanics and 11,190 CZK without mechanics.
If you were expecting a visceral upgrade, you’ll be disappointed in this one. The performance of the PS5 Slim is absolutely identical to the original version. The only change was the storage. Instead of 825 GB you have available with the new version 1 TB and this time there is also the option to expand it through your own NVMe disk. You can see a slight change in the connectors. On the front of the console, the USB-A 2.0 port has been replaced by USB-C 2.0.
When purchasing, also be aware of how you plan to build the console. Unlike the original version, the PS5 Slim expects you to lay it horizontally. If you want to build it vertically, you need to purchase a stand, which is not included in the package. It costs CZK 699.
