Television viewers are getting a glimpse into the significant difference between Halina Pawlowská as the former presenter of the Czech Television talk show “Banana Fish” and her current self. In a recent interview on the CNN Prima News program “Povídej,” Pawlowská surprised many with her new appearance and demeanor. However, she still introduced herself as the “good old” Halina with her quirky sense of humor.
During the interview, Pawlowská opened up about her personal life, which has been an endless source of inspiration for her stories, scripts, and books. As usual, the conversation revolved around her parents. She expressed her disappointment that her mother had never praised her, to which her mother replied, “I won’t be any other.” Pawlowská also revealed that her father, a unique Ukrainian poet, never praised her either. He was solely focused on a free Ukraine and didn’t care about her personal achievements. However, he did believe she was the smartest.
Pawlowská admitted that her memory is not always accurate, often telling stories as they should have been rather than how they actually happened. She feels that her book, “The Truth About My Husband,” is underappreciated because people approached it with piety due to her husband’s premature death, rather than evaluating it as a good book. When asked about difficult periods in her life, Pawlowská acknowledged that it is still a challenging time, especially when losing loved ones. She shared her personal experiences of miscarriage and empathized with her daughter, who went through the same ordeal.
Despite living with a new partner, Pawlowská acknowledged that her life will never be the same again. However, she still lives by the motto, “Thanks for every new morning.” She expressed her dissatisfaction with the overall situation but emphasized her determination to make the most of each day and enjoy the things she loves. Pawlowská mentioned her enjoyment of traveling to theaters with her show, hosting the weekly “Omeletky” on Czech Radio, and appearing in the Prima television series “ZOO.” However, she admitted that managing everything is a challenge, jokingly referring to herself as a “woman in a chute.”
