The figure of Fatimah Az Zahra
Fatimah Az Zahra bint Muhammad RA is the fourth daughter of the Prophet SAW by his marriage to Khadijah bint Khuwailid. Fatimah RA was born in Ummul Qura (Makkah) on Friday, 20 Jumadi al-Tsani.
He was even edited by one of the prophet’s companions, Ali bin Abi Talib. Their second marriage was blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.
The two sons of Fatimah Az Zahra were named Hasan and Husain, while the daughters of Fatimah RA and Ali RA were named Zainab and Umm Kulthum.
Fatimah Az Zahra RA was the most loved child of the Prophet SAW. He even once said, “Fatimah is a part of my body. Whoever troubles her, means she troubles me,” as quoted from the book 99 Amazing Stories of the Prophet’s Companions by Tethy Ezokanzo.
According to Abdus Sattar Ash-Shaikh in the book Fatimah Az-Zahra: Leader of the Women of HeavenRasulullah SAW even stated that Fatimah RA is the best woman among all women in the world.
The Prophet SAW said, “The best women in the world are Maryam bint Imran, Khadijah bint Khuwailid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, and Asiyah the wife of Pharaoh.” (HR Muslim)
The story of the death of Fatimah Az Zahra
After Rasulullah SAW died, Fatimah RA felt very sad. He even felt that his days on earth were only short.
According to the hadith, Fatimah RA was the first family member of the Prophet SAW to die after himself. From Urwah, from Aisha RA, she said, “Fatimah died six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah.”
According to the book Gardens of the Prophet’s Love: Stories of the Lover of the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s Heart Full of Wisdom and Coolness by Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Umairah, before her death, Fatimah RA suffered from severe pain.
The pain he suffered became worse until he complained to Asma’ binti Amis, as his servant, about the pain that infected his body. Fatimah RA also said,
“Can you cover me with something?” Fatimah RA also added, “I saw that the Abyssinians always made beds for women and covered them with coffins.”
Then Asma’ told someone to make the coffin, when Asma’ turned, Fatimah RA said,
“O my servant, prepare water for bathing,”
After that Asma’ actually prepared water for Fatimah RA’s bath.
He then said to Asma’, “Take my new clothes,”
After the clothes were given to her, Fatimah RA again said, “O my servant, I will be called at this time, and I have taken a bath, so don’t let anyone open my shoulders.”
After that, Fatimah RA was called by Allah SWT. His death coincided with Tuesday night in the month of Ramadan in the year 11 Hijri.
Muslims flocked to the Prophet’s Mosque to pray for Fatimah RA led by her husband, Ali RA. The funeral prayer of the second wave was led by his uncle Abbas bin Abdul Muthalib RA. Fatimah’s body was then taken to Baqi Tomb, buried next to her relatives, Zainab RA, Ruqayyah RA, and Umm Kultsum RA.
