The Life and Career of Saad Al-Dossary: From Striker to Security Guard

Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video clip on Tik Tok reviewed the life story of Al-Ittihad and national team player Saad Al-Dossary, nicknamed “Abu Samra” from his inception until his retirement, who was considered a striker and a sniper, as the clubs were engaged and he wanted to play with them.

In the seventies, he moved to Al-Ittihad Club from the Al-Jazira team, in a deal worth 300 thousand riyals, and he was one of the stars of the team and their terrifying scorer.

Prince Talal bin Mansour, may God have mercy on him, sponsored the expenses of his marriage, after which “Abu Samra” named one of his sons, in gratitude, the name Talal.

“Abu Samra” contributed to achieving the most difficult league with Al-Ittihad in 1982 (the joint league), the Saudi Federation Cup in 1986, and the King’s Cup runner-up 3 times. He was also chosen to represent the national team, and participated in the sixth Arab Championship in Morocco.

“Abu Samra” previously told Okaz newspaper that the federation’s administration had dismissed him improperly, and had forgotten his services to the team, as they delivered a letter of dismissal to the club’s goalkeeper; Then he announced his retirement and did not play for any other club after that.

“Abu Samra” added: “I sacrificed my time, my studies and my work for Al-Ittihad Club, and I ended up becoming a security guard.”
