The Grand Hôpital de Charleroi (GHdC) is beginning a historic transition by consolidating, from November 25, its activities on the modernized Viviers and Notre Dame sites. Mozer, Belgian leader in the relocation of public institutions and large companies, was chosen to orchestrate this delicate operation, which aims to maintain continuity of care while gradually closing the sites of Saint-Joseph, Sainte-Thérèse, IMTR, and Queen Fabiola. With 126,000 admissions and more than 500,000 consultations per year, the GHdC is one of the largest hospitals in Wallonia, requiring cutting-edge logistical organization for this move.
Mozer is overseeing the transfer of approximately 7,500 m³ of medical equipment, furniture, and technical infrastructure. This complex logistics covers all care units, laboratories, operating theaters, revalidation centers and medical imaging services, divided into several staggered transfer phases. Thus, patients from the Saint-Joseph site will be transferred from November 16, followed by patients from the other sites, in line with a careful closure schedule, up to the complete closure of Sainte-Thérèse on November 25. Mozer is doing everything it can to minimize disruption, including to emergency services, ensuring a smooth transition.
Mozer has acquired a solid reputation with public institutions and large companies. The GHdC relocation project reflects the ambition and skills of Mozer, who has already managed major projects such as the relocation of the European Commission or the MontLégia complex. Through these large-scale projects, Mozer provides a complete logistics solution that goes beyond simple moving management: the company also takes care of upstream logistics preparation, with a unique exit management service. Mozer is also committed to recycling unused equipment by promoting the circular economy.
