When they hear the word “encirclement,” they flee professionally. They resort to such measures as that their army is not completely encircled. That is, it is better for them to escape from the battlefield, but not to be encircled,” Tarnavsky said.
Liberation of Kherson
Kherson was occupied in the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine – back on March 2. In June 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a counter-offensive and rejected the invaders from the first line of defense of Kherson. Russia tried to create the illusion of control by announcing a referendum in the occupied territories on “the annexation of the regions to the Russian Federation.”
At the same time, reports reported on the gradual withdrawal of Russians from the right bank to the left – the “authorities” of the region were also transported there, and on November 9, the Russian Federation announced the withdrawal of troops from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper.
Almost exactly a year ago, on November 11, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to enter Kherson, liberating the city after many months of occupation.
