The liberal censors and the pitiful management of the BNR –

/ world today news/ We are liberal, we love civil rights and freedom of expression, we observe every violated human right in the mall and metropolitan gardens. However, our feelings are confused. The removal of a program from the air of the Bulgarian National Radio brings us real joy. We strongly object to hearing, even within an hour on the Sabbath, what we do not like. Long live freedom of speech, BHK and the Sakharov Prize!

You think you’ve stepped into some absurdist play, but no. You are participating in the bogus play of “democratic society”. In the main role are liberal stalwarts who otherwise excitedly follow the presentation of any awards that spread messages of freedoms and rights. When something dangerous happens in the Bulgarian media, the group holding the license on “civil society” wonders where to start spitting. You are also in the country where the pro-pluralist Gogo Lozanov has been the chairman of the Electronic Media Council for as long as we can remember.

The democratic community, for its part, is expending all its energy to express its satisfaction at the takedown of the Deconstruction show. Joy, instead of scandal, that words are banned. Speaking in a national media, where different points of view in public and political processes are required to be represented, has been silenced in an ugly way. Today it happens with “Deconstruction”, tomorrow it can hit anyone else on the head. And precisely because of the fundamental danger of such an action against speaking, a sensitivity of doubt and indignation should be displayed.

Dear Democrats, you call “decommunization”?! What could be more horrifying than the disgusting unison of commentary, opinion and political analysis on public radio. What greater violation of freedom of speech can there be than forbidding to say what you do not want to hear. Neoliberal morality has now manifested itself in its falsity more strongly than ever. I am ashamed of people who pretend to be free-thinkers, express civil positions, but do not realize the problem of closing the mouth of a report inconvenient for the authorities. I am ashamed of you because your slogans are mothballed and would be more suited to the years before you and I were born.

“Deconstruction” is one of the highest-rated shows on the Horizon program, and its host has been voted Horizon’s Journalist of the Year in recent years. People choose you as a journalist on Horizon because there is no one to hide the listening calls, but at the same time they take you off the air because you criticize the government sharply.

Oh God, the irony… The irony, my dear! She will eat our soul. And now we are proud citizens of Bulgaria, a country exemplary in media pluralism. Once there is no “Deconstruction”, pluralism will flood Radio, TV and online media like a tsunami. A real order of speech will emerge and we will hear the right commentators in their right ideology of the world. The rest of the Bulgarian citizens, who have allowed themselves to have a different view and a different opinion from the rulers of the neoliberal truth, will have to listen to this only allowed truth on all media channels until they are deafened, until they are finally told that there is nowhere to they look in other directions. It is interesting that people who pretend to be dissidents and anti-Communists to the grave now sound like nomenclatural executioners with Soviet fervor in their eyes. The chairman of the CEM moves to this rhythm, but so does the incompetent leadership of the BNR.

At the end of the mandate of Radoslav Yankulov as the general director of the BNR, the removal of a program from the air of the National Radio is more than a tragic finale. This is the tragic triumph of incompetent leaders and weak personalities who were more concerned with silencing the existence of problems than thinking about how to solve them. The leadership of Radoslav Yankulov and his entourage of directors and all sorts of other obedient officials did everything possible to make almost no one currently working at the Radio believe them. In addition to tearing people apart in the BNR, they brought discomfort and tension, they also threatened them with power in order to silence the protest of the employees for the resignation of the leadership that failed in every decision it made. People who have worked in the BNR in recent years during Yankulov’s time will realize that the removal of “Deconstruction” from the air is the metastasis of impotence. Today we cut 50% of the fees of hundreds of people, then we forbid them to protest with fabricated orders, ugly handwritten with a backdated date, we exercise discipline like in the Army – who buys coffee and leaves work when, and today – congratulations, we take down transmission! But as a Lebanese proverb says, “It’s easy to act arrogant when the head held high is empty.” On the other hand, a feeling of deep shame cannot appear in the empty head, since in order for it to appear, the thing must be understood and then be ashamed. To easily take down an author’s show with the argument that it lacks pluralism is to fall into one’s own trap. And BNR, instead of emphasizing even more its way to the bottom, should have declared a position and prevented such an action from national air to remove original shows from the air. Instead, the Governing Council of the BNR accepted with meek slavish unanimity something actually so scandalous. At that time, the general director does not know how to speak to the media about this action and quietly stays in the office.

Freedom of speech in Bulgarian means that if you dare to criticize the government and the system, NATO and the European Union, then you should have invited them to you to defend themselves. These organizations own all the media of their own country and bombard us with their propaganda on a daily basis through all channels.

Finally, I can’t help but pay attention to one of the most interesting arguments of the squealing analysts in support of the deconstruction of Deconstruction. This is their strong defensive position that they paid taxes and supported the BNR, which is why they demand to be served traditional cuisine. But everyone else outside their clique who wants to hear voices like those in “Deconstruction” and doesn’t want to support BNT and BNR to have the usual neoliberal gang of professors and analysts from dozens of institutes and organizations push their way, also pays taxes. Our pluralism is sinking from all sides and getting darker and darker, and will the CEM chairman for life notice it?
