The Spanish side of the Chelsea and this summer he won the Eurocup with Spain being one of the figures of The Red, Marc Cucurellapraised the level of Mexican football, specifically that of the youth teams, suggesting that they could be at the same level as in Europe.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Cucurella mentioned that during his training process he had to compete against Liga MX clubs and mentioned that he was surprised by the level of young Mexican soccer players.
“I remember that the academies and soccer schools in Mexico were very good. I remember playing against Chivas and some others. The truth is that we had a hard time and the level was very high, I was very surprised,” said Cucurella.
The Spanish international said that he does have knowledge of Mexican football thanks to coaches and players he has met in his career, mentioning clubs such as Chivas, América and even Atlas.
“I know Chivas, Pumas, Atlas because I had a coach who trained there, then América. I also know Rayados because there are a couple of Spanish players,” he concluded.
